    Rod bolt ?

    What is he right rod bolt for this connecting rod? The one with the shorter thread was on the rod when I took it apart.

    1983 mariner 200. Seems like the threads on he two different bolts are different. The rod bolt lengths are a little different.

    Personally, I'd get all new bolts..... cheap insurance and no guessing

    The shorter bolt is probably for the small Mercury rod like the 141. Some people don't realize the 141 and 5250 rods take different bolts. You have 5250's

    Thanks. Thought the new ones looked wrong. The distance between threads seem to be different as well.

    Speaking of rod bolts. Has anyone ever come across socket head rod bolts in a 2.4 BP?

    Does anyone know the right part number for those rod bolts. They have the 24 threads. I see pro marine has a 8000 and 8000p. One has a 90 degree add on for the final torque. Never thought it would be so difficult to identify the right rod bolt. He rods are 625-5250
