Cool 300 Pro max on a Mirage

Has anyone ever put a 300 pro max on a River Racer ? I am going to look at the motor this weekend with the intent of putting it on my rebuilt river racer. Am I nut's ?

    Thanks Pete

msg11 here on the boards had one on his Mirage SkiRacer. That thing HAULED THE MAIL! I think it worked out a bit better when he swapped to a 15" from his factory 20". Definitely need do rebalance some things.

I wouldnt. Its too heavy for the lighter boats imo. 2.5'S are great on the smaller tunnel boats.

I had a 3.0 liter OMC on a river-racer ran and drove great . Big block Merc should weigh about the same as the Big block OMC's.

    That boat moved!

I mean, they don't mimic a 2.5 powered boat. I'd prefer a 2.5 myself. Heck, a member here had a shorty 300x on a river racer and had it running 140's
