These lowers came in a batch of parts and motors. Any idea what they are and what they might fit?

Looks like something Jim Parker made for a Kilo or drag application. It will no doubt fit a Parker Tower Housing...for an Inline 6 Mercury or a Chrysler...The Crescent forward shape was used by the factories in the 70's, but the unsplined shaft indicates Mid to early 60's props.

Interesting. The prop shaft looks like it has a taper to it like an old flywheel/crank intersection. Unless the camera angle is messing with it.

I like it. Never seen one.

Correct, Jim Parker mid-60's. Its a continuation of the Hubbell line that Jim bought out. Its the direct descendant of the unit used under the V-4's Entrop beat his Merc records with; essentially the Hubbell 4-60 unit with a nose job.

Yep, that one is set up with a tapered shaft. Keyway gives it away. Props will be hard to find. Best ones will probably be Littons, maybe Johnsons (Oakland Johnson, "OJ", not OMC).

Based on the era probably no more than 150 or so would be my guess....

I saw a Hubbell years ago and I seem to remember it not having a water pump. I was told that it used ram effect to circulate the water to the powerhead. Is that correct?

I think even the Mercury Speedmaster can be run without a pump if you want to. Or so I have heard, I have not run mine yet. But yes the ram effect can be pretty good.

OK, I have to ask....what are the 3 shadows on the skeg? Is the skeg designed to pick up water there? Or is that just a wear mark that happened somehow?

That is correct. Parker did some upgrades.

Pretty sure those slots & holes are the water inlet

    Parker Tower

I think this picture shows appropriate Parker tower for that gearcase... (not mine)
This tower was sold around 2007. I could possibly find out where it went if necessary.

25XS If you or anyone else here knows of a tower available for this, I'd be interested. I also have a spacer plate that came with the two lower units (photo attached) any idea what it fits?

Thank you for all the information, everyone who posted. I would either like to use these units or sell them off to someone who has use for them.

Actually, that's more for a Merc Speedmaster than this case.

Summer is here! Cleaning out the shop. I still have these lower units. Any idea where I could find a mid section for them or anybody interested in purchasing them. Seems a waste to just be sitting on my shelf collecting dust.
