    John McCall Christmas Cards

The Christmas season reminded me of one of my favorite cards.John would always make a photo Christmas card from his latest completed boat with a beautiful lady in a bikini on it. I've got a couple somewhere if I can find them.Who has one they can post?

I may still have one somewhere but I don't know where to look. We moved a couple of times so that stuff gets forgotten. If I ever find one again it is going right on the scanner.

I wonder if the SE boat in that one is the one Bobby Drewery beat me with in Eufala in 1973. John's stuff was racing art. To this day I have a picture of my McCall as the wallpaper on my computer screen. It still makes me smile.

We built one like that for a fellow in Lima, Ohio. Can't remember who he was. We drove up and delivered the boat and spent 2 or 3 days with him and his Mom and Dad I believe. Wonderful people as I recall.

Thanks for posting those pics . I am going to save them since they include a couple of my own. The SE competition record by Bobby Drewery at the 73 Nationals broke the one I set the previous heat and cost me a National championship as well. Hard to feel bad about losing to the combination of Paul Angel & Bobby. They were one of the best teams I ever raced against. Mr. Angel was always very generous to me with setup info and I learned a lot from him. Bobby just seemed to have a feel for how to get the most out of whatever boat he was in.
Could you post the first 2 pictures as larger files? I can save them but they are too small to read. Thanks

I will send email and maybe you can attach larger files in reply? Wouldn't digital cameras and gopro video have been wonderful? I raced for 13 years and only saw about 30 seconds of video of myself driving and I didn't have sense enough to get a copy. So these little bits of our racing history are always welcome.

Does anyone remember John blowing over Bob Thompsons " Just Add Water" McCall twin UU boat at Tavares?

Jim. Did you ever blow a McCall over? I managed to blow over my second time out in my SE tunnel. That boat only ran right with my wife in it but I couldn't talk her into racing it.

I still have that catalog in the last photo of the above post. Rumor had it that that was Bobby Drewry's daughter on the cover. That was Bobby's boat, you can make out Capitol Marine (Paul's dealership) on the deck.
We repainted the trim on my McCall SE and were real careful to save the McCall logo.
