Where did you find / get this one Crimson??

Quinten, heres what an OEM Bridgeport / Formula pan look like. Only difference is the bungees are flipped around on the Formula style with the hold downs on the cowl like pictured above.

    Mariner

Man, i have the picture you want somewhere, just cant find it yet... I did find this of the older Mariner race engines which is real cool... that other picture of the Mariner posted earlier looks like a T3 Merc cowl, modified with the Bridgeport intakes and three vents (instead of 5)on the top... even uses Merc Bridgeport decals with MARINER over top of them...

    Here's the Mariner Mod VP.

    and the Merc version

These of course are not the Bridgeport cowls but that Mariner pic up top seems to be a hybrid.

I can post this here, right?

My dream discovery, thanks to Jeff, Mark/Janna, and Frank - dead-mint, in the box, NOS and never mounted BP cowl. It still has the paper wrapping on the bungees and it also included the EFI decals. I won't say what I paid for it, because it would make some people cry. But I'll just say that I got it extraordinarily cheap.

Ive got one just like it on my laser but without the 2.4 EFI sticker. I would love to have a new one! Mine has a repair on the inside from bungee stress and it worries me every time I fasten it down.

Yeah I remember how fragile these cowls are. Of course they were made to be as lightweight as possible so I don't think Mercury had longevity in mind when they were designed LOL! I had one a long time ago and it had repairs on the inside as well, and it was cracked where the bungees were. I also remember how much it would shake when using the boat because I didn't have the top pin in place on mine.

The BP cowl is by far my all-time favorite engine cowl. It just looks so much like a race engine cowl instead of a 'consumer-ish' sport cowl.
I just need a mint or NOS bottom pan, which will probably be just as hard to locate as the cowl itself. I'm on the lookout though.

Greg , look at that cowl real close, why is it that the C and the U hang below the line ? Have you ever noticed that ????all of them are the same way I noticed that on mine and my dad bought me a brand-new one and I've always looked at others and they're all the same

that mercury faunt lets those 2 letters hang down for some reason Next time you see a Mercury sticker look at it real close and sometimes you'll notice what I'm talking about on certain stickers or cowlings.
