Grinch stole $2K in money orders

This really sucks... Yesterday I pulled some Western Union money orders to buy a Bridgeport longblock. I put the seller's name on them, and put them in an envelope with shipping info, and stashed it in my car. This morning I went to the post office... no more envelope. I'm sure I didn't move it somewhere else. I hope the thieves are not able to cash the money orders. I'm worried some illegit party store owner will cash them and claim that an ID was presented. Even if Western Union issues me refunds for them, it's doubtful I will still be able to buy the motor I want, or have enough time to get things back together before spring. We have a baby on the way in February. There's a good chance I will have to put the boat up for sale in the spring. Bummer...

Western Union is really good with situations. I had a couple red flag incidents with a guitar and a mixing board deal and they were on top of it quickly. Get on the phone.

I know I have lost things I swear I knew right where I put and then they turn up some time later. I thought for sure my $550 prescription sunglasses were stolen from my truck but they turned up 2 months later....in my truck...after I had turned it upside down searching a few times. One day they were just laying on the floorboard ????

    Correct. It happens to everyone.

My MOM called me at work and told me she ransacked my kitchen and living room and found the envelope in a paper bag which I had also used to carry some fine single-malt Scotch whisky into the house last night. Apparently, after a couple drams of Glenmorangie, I forgot that I left it in there.

Yes, I'm the Grinch. I thought it would be cool to admit my fault here before I go and delete this. We can all learn a thing or two.

Hehe.... I knew it a scotch problem all along. Thus, the leading questions. Thank God for Mothers.

I'll give her a boat ride.

She usually presses the fake PANIC button on the dash around 55 or 60.

Maybe if you drank Jack Daniels, you wouldn't have such bad karma.
