Shes my kinda tater chip!!! Sweet looking STV. Like the guys say be careful for a while with that much power to weight. Sounds like from a non tunnel guy such as myself what the guys say at least 1 to 1 1/2 above. Have fun with that rocket ship!!

I have the same boat. Here's my two cents. 1.5" above the pad. Try to find a cleaver in the 30 pitch range. Is the boat center steer? 425 lbs is really light..... Good luck and be safe. PH

Dark - I agree with Pete, that trying a higher motor setup is a good idea. Two reasons why it may help l- 1) higher prop shaft generates less bow lift, less tendancy to chine walk; 2) chine walk is a dynamic instability that is often resolved by changing dynamic balance of the hull (engine height is one of the actions that will accomplish this.)

I will say that the guy that builds my motors raced mod vp for roake in the late 80's and that weight # is spot on, after the I think 1987 season roarke rounded up or tried to round up all of the light ones and crushed them,I think after Chris bush and a couple of other blow over and crashes, granted these boats were running right 120 on the straights with bridgeports!!!!

I think roark only had two factory drivers chris bush and rusty campble (spelling) u also had to weight a certain amount maybe 1350 cant remember.... so i think i was told the boats were built 550 or 650...again cant remember exactly

That was NATIONAL drivers,they were several on the east coast that had roarke backing,dealers mainly,and it worked I think!!!!! By the way my 86 sprint weighed 650 lbs!!!!
