the BOB's plate is a waste of cast aluminum...and if you tighten it too much it will break the cavitation plate on your lower unit.

So I use my Stream for pulling me through the ski course. It seems as though I want the drag profile to launch flatter if I'm alone in the boat and pulling my friend. I just purchased a High Five and even Bennett Trim Tabs (off CL)that I'm considering installing. I'd modify them to have fins to help reduce my pulling the back end of the boat side to side as I cut around the turn balls. All of this is academic until I get the injectors cleaned and start the engine.

I appreciate the view that Bob's plates are junk and the crack warning. Has there ever been testing or comparison of these plates? Sounds like a great article for John Tiger. He might have done one already. I bought mine over 10 yrs ago and if I remember there were few non-plastic West Marine type plates around. 15 yrs ago I negotiated a cross the "pond" exchange with a machinist-- trim wedges for a custom plate. My end of the deal was upheld and the brit failed to deliver. (Cost as much in shipping as the purchase).

Pat Simmons' custom plate behind his old Quartermaster was an amazing piece of real estate that he fabricated. It would have been more like a swim platform for me. The Bennetts promise an out of the way at speed but greater square inches at takeoff than any cavatation plate add-on. Weight and junking up the transom are the negatives.

Your product looks like a quality piece from your pics. I'd like to have some comparisons before I buy. I guess I have some Pyro in me. He has an exacting way about him and seems to employ the scientific method.

Thanks for for letting me share. Ok, it is 5 am and I need to leave for a 7a ski behind some Mastercrafts.
