so eventually all the race boats that run 2.5 280 outboard engines pretty soon will have to buy different engines and which ones ? what about the Engine rules of the saction bodies are they going to change the rules in order to fix the issue of these engines not being produced anymore ?

Only coz the 120 powerhead is hard to find and now that the 200xs has had a few seasons and costs less to maintain
Still takes a while to swallow the 200sx purchase price

But by going to the smaller engines means less HP as well I don't like that.

    Sst120 is 2ltr just over 200hp
    200xs is 2.5 and about 240hp

Yeah but it means you go slower not faster and also they have to be bone stock too only thing you can do is lightened the flywheel. According to the rules. In SS Class.

They are. You buy a new inboard/stern drive, you'll be dealing with catalytic converters. So much BS it just makes you want to strangle a tree hugger.

The real Q is why the 300XS's hasn't been a standard option for the SS boat...... Same reason the 200xs will never take off in ss.....have at it.

a 200xs has over rev to 8000, I dont think a 300x can do that and without that its a pontoon boat motor not a tunnel boat engine.
Thats why a sst120 with less horsepower but can rev to almost 9k can compete with it.
