1983 2.4 200 mercury: opinions on solid mounts or not?
Looking for advice/opinions here. I am about to finish assembly of a modified 2.4 200 powerhead for my bassboat. I am guessing it should push it high 60's to
low 70's. The rig is a 1992 stratos 201 with cable steering. I have solid mounts sitting here and the question I have is should I install them or not? Thanks,James

Definitely. I put them on my InLine 115 on a Glasstream 15V bass boat and it was night and day difference. I don't think I'd want a 50+ MPH boat without solids.

Replace both uppers and lowers. You'll have to remove the powerhead to install the uppers. DO NOT replace "just" the lower mounts! The clamp bracket will be forced to support the entire motor by the lower mounts, and something will crack.
With full solid mounts, you'll enjoy much more accurate steering and handling.'89 Hydrostream Vegas XT, '90 Merc 2.4 Bridgeport PCU EFI
