True. This engine would fail a SST-120 inspection in every way EXCEPT the thickness of the head gaskets. I am trying to find out how these carbs would be jetted on a 120 engine so I can get in the ball park on this one. The jetting will be checked after break in using the WOT plug method and exhaust temp readings. It will be very fat during break in. Again thank you for your responses.

I started out just like you, wondering and asking. No one wanted to come right out and give me a straight answer as to the jetting for my COR engine (SST-120 at the time)and I don't blame them. I'm really going to stick my neck out now and give you a straight answer. You are cross drilled with 1/2" holes. Put in .094 high speed jets and .o42 low speed jets and do some testing. Forget every thing else and work it out from there! If you decide not to run a cross drilled manifold, cut the high speed jets down to the mid 080's then test, test test. Take a few short runs before you run WOT for a distance and thencheck your plugs and/or piston tops. I'll probably be taking heat from here on in but most races are won by getting a great start and improving on your lead. In short course roundy rounds driving is more important than a few RPM's and it ain't all rocket science. T-Rex said .070 off the front half-.050 is safe and I don't think there is a COR rule that says you can't. I also believe the 1" spacer T-REX mentioned . would be legal . OK so now I've laid it out and am standing by for back-lash, be gentle. JMT's

.070 iz max...Bein tha front half's arenot created equal, .070 will put U very close to tha checkvalves... .050 iz very safe on any front, and to be honest, I don't know if U would notice any difference...I juss always figger'd, if ya gunna do it, go az far az ya kin go...:-)

James: thanks for helping out the racers out here. I would like to expand the 2.0 Liter endurance racing under APBA Special Events Division 2 by adding additional races to the enduro as a series.

First of all thank you all!

The earlier front halves have more material on them and I have cut .100 off a few. I mainly "eyeball" how close I am to the bleeders. As far as the spacer. It has to be a production part AS i read the rules. I know the 7 pedal had them but I am unaware of any 5 that had spacers. I make spacers out of HDPE and they work very well. I think I will run a stock intake on this one as I can get it in the neighborhood easier with jetting.

That would be great! Those may be better suited for how I have this one built. Once this one is gone I will start on the next built. I am well pleased with how the first engine has ran especially to get a 2nd place finish (behind you! LOL) in our first year has really surprised me. Then it to make it through 2 endurance and to finish well enough to be inspected really made my day! LOL. I really appreciate your help in getting the engine legal for the enduro BUT I am gunning for you!!! Keith learning to drive better also helps! LOL!!!!!! THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP ON THE 343 Boat!!!

The APBA inspector said the spacer in legal unless it was an OEM part. The spacer from mercury would need significant fabrication to work with the reed plate.

I agree on the front halves while some you can take off .100 others .030 is the most.

I think Mike meant to say illegal unless an OEM part.
