My condolences Warren,
Grieving my friend is a part of the process of healing,
Never met you or your father but it sounds as though he was a special man who loved his son very much to have kept you beside him and included you in his ever day life and ventures.
Not everybody was blessed with such a wonderful father, focus on all the wonderful moments and love you two shared.
He shared and taught you all the lessons of his life's wisdom because he loves you and wanted you to be safe and to become an honorable man.
Now it's your turn to honor him, grieve your pain and continue your journey of life in happiness with those in it.
Share and pass on the wisdom he taught you with your children.
He wants nothing less for you or the rest of his family.
A parent wants nothing more than their children to be happy and safe no matter how old they get, you are and always will be his little boy.
It may not be of any consolation now but the pain of loss will eventually become bearable and when you look back on the memories of the past you will do so with fondness, affection and love for your dad.
I lost 3 of my family members at the beginning of last year within 3 months.
I became a basket case for longer than I care to admit but the pain did subside and now I can remember all the good times and wisdom which was shared with me along my path of life.
May God bless you and your family in your times of turmoil and ease your pains.
May your father RIP.

Warren, you were generous enough to take me out for a ride in your boat last winter, not knowing who I was or getting anything in return from me. It was a great day for me and something I will remember for my entire life. I'm sure that the kindness and generosity that you showed me were reflections of how your father treated the people around him.
My condolences go out to the family and friends which were close to your father.
May he forever rest in peace.

Warren,
Sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family. I lost my dad a few years ago and I think of him every day. He used to take me to the boat ramp when I was a kid and we used to watch the boats being launched. When I was 15 we saw this really cool Checkmate Enchanter getting launched and sure enough he bought one for "us" with a 225 Merc. When I was 15 I had a 70mph speed boat. And then it was bigger and faster from then on. When my dad was 80 I had him out for a ride on my speedboat. Our dads were so cool. I miss him terribly too.

I never realized just how much my dad (and mom) did for me over life, but even now decades later both passed, I still come across things they taught me. Sorry for your loss.
