    Shaun Gruner

As some of you know I built Shaun a engine a year or so ago . When I started the build there were vendors that were on board to help out with the parts end of things and I was going to port and build the engine @ no charge to him for his service to our country. The vendors backed out at the last second. I went ahead with the build and sent it out to him. Well the OMC ignition did what it does best and now it is back with a hole in the top of #5.

What we need is a Yamaha ignition system to complete the build this time. I just hung up with Kevin (baja200merc) he is going to check with a dealer near him. If anyone know were we might get our hands on a 86-89 150-225hp yahama ignition system we need your help. I would really like to do this up grade for him this time and I really need your help to do so.

The engine will need the one piston, rings , seals , gaskets and the upper bearing cap for the conversion.

    Thanks for you help

I do not know Shaun Gruner, nor do I have any OMC/Yamaha parts laying around. I rely mainly on a disability income and hustle up a side job tinting something from time to time to feed my boating/fishing addiction. I would happily put a thing or two on the back burner if you have a paypal I could send a few bucks your way to help or you could set up one of those funding pages where people can donate. I am in the middle of moving out of my apartment and in with my girlfriend so it may take a day or two get it done but I will get it done. I don't have a lot but will gladly share what I have with someone who has served our country especially seeing as how they don't want any one legged hillbilly shooters or tank drivers!

Sam I really can't thank you enough for doing all you've done already... Not your fault that the ignition failed! For you to build the motor even when the vendors pulled out and for you to want to fix it for me after a failure that wasn't your fault speaks louder than words ever could about the kind of man you are. Thanks Sam really I don't have the words to express the level of appreciation I have for what you've done for me man....

I'll tell ya...this motor is already very special to me but the fact that others are willing step in and help Me/Sam after the parts backing got pulled makes it that much more special!...to some its probably just an old Evinrude but to me its got heart and soul...

Hiflyer, Thank you a ton sir!

Slimm, thank you a ton as well!

I wish I could put it in more meaningful words...

    Shaun

I think I have a working trigger and cdi, but they are used. I also have a couple of stators that could be tested. If you need them let me know.

After seeing some of the motors you built in person, buying many things from you over the years, talking to you in Jasper, and what you are doing for Shaun I see how cool of a cat you really are!! Some people often forget about the sacrifices that many make for this country that go un-noticed, so I too would like to help with this cause so I'll call you about some possibilities this week Sam.

Thanx for serving our country Shaun!
