2.5 200 Block & Front Half
I have a virgin/never fired all std. bore 91' Mercury 2.5 200 block with a low hour non-matching 5 petal front half. The story on this block from previous owner was used at a Mercury school. It had been assembled and reassembled a few times. I bought this off the board about 3 years ago with plans to build a prostock style 200. That has not happened so maybe someone can use it. I am asking $1000/o.b.o. plus shipping to lower 48 states. I have some other parts I can sell but not enough for complete motor. PM or call/text 817.688.6340. Thanks.

If it is a true 1991 is should have exhaust relief slots. I have had a couple of these. The ones I had also were bottom guided too.

It is a true 91' XRI block without reliefs. I believe all the carb motors had the reliefs.

from 1991-93
mercury did a lot of mismatched stuff on the new block
some had 7 pedal reeds with slots in ex
some had 5 pedal with no reliefs
some were 2.4 bottom guided
some were new top guided
I saw it as R&D and using up 2.4 parts
the 91-95 blocks have smaller and lower ports than 96 up
also ex cavity was small like a 2.4 than 96 up
this block been assembled 100s of times even though never ran
hope threads not wore out by students overtightening allun

must have been one of these mother merc brain hacks i had a xr4 once that was a 2.0 it had been setting up 11 years( i bought it cheap and was the first guy in to it ) guy who bought it new hated it it had the small gearcase on it, and a stock 2.0 wont hardly twist the 178 gears, it was a nice mota inside though i changed it to horizontal front and some different heads carbs were wh41 same as all the early xr4
