I'm not unhappy at all with how this boat runs. It is max HP for 175 and it has a 150. I also need to do some test runs with the 21 Tempest. I'm currently running a 23 Lazer II and it's max RPMS are 5200 before it really starts to slip. The Tempest is a much larger wheel and I even have to take off the torque tab because the prop now hits it.

If you want speed, start by getting the set-up right (propeller, engine height, set-back, weight distribution, straightness of hull) before tinkering with the engine. That is where the painless gains are to be had.

The engine height is setup to the correct height. I'm very familiar with doing so and correctly propping a boat. Now I'm not a racer by any means. Just trying to squeeze a few more HP out of this outboard. I'll check out your link later today when I get home from work. I'm pretty sure the 21 Tempest that I mentioned earlier will be perfect for my setup. Just can't run it until spring or if I head WAY SOUTH everything here is iced over already
