Twin 150's? Yikes. I'd stick with a stout single myself.

being a 76 model its going to be heavy layup,,,,
and the old 150s if has bass mids are only 360-370 lbs each
vs a new xs motor at 550 window
so if motors are close on transom
the 2 blades with less slippage
actually would not be a bad thing on the older straight heavy hull

motors are close, on transom no bracket

will be a fun boat
with duals will chime walk less
and excellerate nicely
just don't use bow lifter props
as bow should be a bit light'
but if boat has been this way already when u got it
hopefully previous owned dialed it in
with props and maybe some ballast in bow
good luck on project

I was going to look at it, it's in conn..guy sent more pics it's rough,if I wasn't in middle of my ghost project I would look at it .. after just doing a tank and floor, which I'm sure that boat needs, and probably transom , stringers ,etc..it starts getting very expensive and time consuming, also looks like it was an old race boat ?? Good luck

I think that was at the CT River Run mayb 5 or 6 years ago. It was porpoising a lot. Probably a cool boat but man restoring an old boat can nickel and dime you to death so be careful. Does it run, can it be water tested?

if was porpoising then it was not set up properly
props,offset,height ,ballast ,ect
there is lots of 24-27 running twins
and do agree if floor or transom gone,,run away
I have a glass shop and not cheap to restore
there is plenty out there cheap that are turn key
worth lookin at but if needs hull work, motors,ur call

There use to be a race boat called "Contagious" which was a 24 Superboat with twin outboards-Evinrudes, and raced in "P" class. The boat than became "Boardwalk" and was re-rigged with twin 150 Mercs and raced in class V. The boat would run 68 MPH. I don't know if its the same boat, but I'd bet on it. For $3,800. looks like a good deal-IMO.
