Looking for someone that may be coming near Michigan around the first of the year with a trailer that I could pay,to bring the top deck.I will pick it up on the Canadian side.Thinking someone may be coming back with a empty four place sled trailer.I know it's a long shot but ya never know.I just spoke to customs at port Huron, and was told if I claim an "informal entry" there is no duty fees.

Our cottage is 20 minutes from Brechin and we live in Windsor. That's the good part. The bad part is that I don't own a trailer and I am trying to sell our Pontiac Vibe, only car we own with a hitch.

If you want to spring for pick up truck rental and gas...

You could make John's shop in 5 hours from my house in the east side of Windsor. For you, 7 hours 51 minutes according to Google maps. There are two snow belts on our side of the border between here and Brechin, London and Barrie. We always check the forecast for both areas before going up in the winter and we don't go if there is a lot of snow coming down. That said, if you wanted to stay over at our place, and travel was safe, it would be OK.

Don, my Lotus is safely put away for storage.

If you have any timing / logistic issues hooking up at Johns shop you can have the deck delivered to my shop (or I could pick it up ). I'm only 2 minutes off #11.
let me know if I can help out.
    cheers.

Ice fishing is big in the area in the winter. Guys I work with go up to Lake Simcoe in the winter, but you couldn't pay me to try it. There's downhill skiing/snow boarding not too far away. Snowmobiling is also big, but I don't know if rentals exist.

Port Huron is the way to go for you. You do need to check the forecasts for the snow belt areas. A co worker did not check and spent the night along with others at a farmers house after a big white out on 402.
