    Allison boats

    http://www.allisonboats.com/content/...03-grandsport/

I was looking into a couple of their boats, they "seem" to claim 60 MPH or better with a 150 recomended eng.

My qestion to all of you is, how fast can you expect one of these models to go without modifications of any kind with 150 HP eng?

Is there some other eng. that you all suggest a person run with these hulls for a better top end?

And they refer to it being a "V" hull, how much chop can these boats handle at speed without knocking ones own teeth out?

    Thanks in advance,

    08

A Grandsport should easily run over 60mph with a 150, and likely will run over 70 as well. My father ran a grandsport with a 115 Johnson for a few years and it went 74. He ran that same motor on a SuperSport and went 83. That being said, with the proper power, both of these models will go over 100mph. (With an experienced driver).

Interesting question. I had a lightly modified 150XR4 on my SS2000 for 10 years and changed to a 225 PM last year. So far I haven't been faster with the 225, but the acceleration is much better.
