Optimax fuel and air pressurs diaphragms
I am looking for a fuel pressure diaphragm for a 2000 model Optimax. Mercury will not sell them. They want to sell you a complete rail. I looked up the fuel rail pn and it superceeds three times and all numbers are FNLA!!! I guess they are telling me to buy a new motor. There has got to be someone who makes a diaphragm that will work. Does anyone know of one? The motor is 225.

pro marine offers rebuild service on the optimax rails. pelican service offers a overpriced diaphragm but you will most likely pinch it if you have not replaced one before. pro marine is your best option.

Pelican services will not sell the diaphragm. They will rebuild your rail for around $600. It is better than a $1400 rail that my customer dosen't need. I think it is funny that Mercury will sell you a tool to disassemble the regulator but won't sell you the parts to fix it.

I am a Pro Marine dealer and I never thought to call them. They have a lot better prices than Pelican.

U can fix it yourself just nice and easy remove the rubber part from the metal use a small chisel and bend back the crimp holding it all together and do the same with a tracker valve that u can get from the dealer and take the good rubber and replace with bad one and bend the crimp back over ... I made the tools to do it and a die for the crimp to fold it back over nice in a small press it really easy once u look it all over i have done 20 so far and not 1 problem ... Don't pay top dollar to have it done not worth it there doing the something ...

That did not work. So tried pro marine, twice. Did not work. Sent to pelican service and repaired my rails. After trying above recommendations and spending $530.00, plus $700.00 for fix, I could have bought new rails.
pelican service fixed rails quick.
pelican services repairs all my rails, so I do not have to throw money away.
