Quick one.. Help me identify if this is a 2.4 or 2.5 from the cowling?
Hi All, in the never ending quest of mine to slowly find better engines (on a budget) can anyone help me identify this engine:
I think its a 2.4, which will almost certainly mean its chrome bore. I'm awaiting the serial number. I'm dreaming it will be an early 2.5. Am I going along the right lines?
p.s. sorry to ask many questions like this here. Its pretty boring I know.

stripe suggest 1986 vintage, if motor hasn't been touched.that would make it a 2.4 l.

Musta been a nightmare! Definitely not a fat block or 2.5......Clamshell cowl. Make sure tha number comes from tha block. Clamp serial numbers may not tell all...........

Ok. Im sure it will be a 2.4 im not that lucky. Ill get the number from the block and find out.
I recently got a 2.0 135 as well. In fact seems im collecting the damn things now as I still have the sst120 powerhead on the old late 70s v6 mid and the 220xri efi...
Id just like something around 200hp without chrome bores so I can play with some tuning!!!
