It's a two-step process, first you have to get some fishin' line wrapped around it... then it works like a weed-whacker.

Post 16 cont.-this is why it made sense to me----.when winding up a two stroke and the exhaust tube is full of water, three fingers would help pull solid/liquid out of way. if they were to cut fish line,they should be close to something,you know shearing action. have had fish line many times,always wraped around fingers,never cut by them.but they do keep line away from seal.LINE CUTTER SEALS(close tolerance to shaft).weed cutters?? how do you pack weeds INSIDE exh tube?,back up fast with trolling motor? one thing for sure GREAT PROP,been using them since they first came out on just bout every motor I've wanted to make perform on streams.dont know if this is right but sounds sensible to me.-th

Nice piece of history there, but it would be a lot more credible if came from engineering rather than sales & marketing.

I like the idea of the ears acting like vanes on a pump to clear water out of the way and reduce exhaust back pressure like mentioned in post 16.
