otay, so share the deal for us out of towners. Moms is 10 mins. from black Point, seems a bit of harassment in certain hangouts, is it worth it? I enjoy nice scenery ,,, and I know So Fla is full of, but if the cops make it un-fun I'm goin "why spend my money" ? in the end, it just costs the city as I don't tavel there and spend my money. Fun Out

There is a very strong police presence out there and at the dock. But it is really needed this wknd because the amount of idiots outweighs the amount of police. Every year someone dies out there.

That is an understatement CG FWC all is out there including homeland security. I have heard it used to be a great time but has gotten rougher over the years.

Joeys boat was an express cat, I'm looking forward to meet and run with you guys when I get the skater back together, one powerhead is getting rebuilt...i just returned from the summer season up in Michigan for work..I have no time to waste, as work gets a little hectic around Xmas again..

"In the center of Biscayne Bay, from Rickenbacker Causeway to Black Point, there will be a slow speed zone in effect," said U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Mike Ortiz. "Boaters will be expected to go 15 knots, no more. If they do so, they will be subject to fines and/or arrests from other law enforcement agencies."
Also, no more than five boats may raft or anchor together and there must be at least 100 feet of distance between each raft of the vessels. Fines range from $125 to $5,000 per boat in violation of this regulation.

They cant really stop people from going to this event. But they can make it so uncomfortable , that people from Miami, Ft. Liquordale, Palm Beach wont go. Unless they tow to Black Point or further south to launch. Which in itself is a recipe for trouble. That or be one of the super rich who planned on plodding along in their yacht at 12 -15 knots , with or without a temporary speed limit in place ...

While it seems to be OK to cover you face , pull your pants down so low you couldn't run even if they did try to arrest you .




The real ****tard move is no more than 5 boats together. And those five cant be any closer than 100' to the next five . So when some kid drowns or is run over and killed while swimming over to see his/her friends because he/she is not allowed to just drive over and park his boat there ...
Are five jet skis considered the same as five mega yachts .. ?
Who gets the $5000 love note . The guy with the anchor , the sixth boat to join in the flotilla .. ?
When the tide changes and a set of smaller boats that doesn't have a stern anchor out , shifts and drifts within 100' of another set ... do all ten captains get ticketed equally .. ?
I grew up due west of Elliot Key . I know from past experience , it's a great big party and that people do stupid things when they are under the influence.
Laws are already in place to deal with the outer fringes of behavior , like that being displayed in the picture above. Perhaps , those laws should be enforced and there wouldn't be a need to come up with knee jerk reaction laws that bypass our basic freedoms. Just sayin ...

Chaz, I enjoyed and was impressed meeting you and your wife in Georgetown. I must admit you we're WAY cooler than the image in my imagination from our past transcripts. sorry for you luck that day, but hope you enjoyed the simplicity of that style of life up here in north central Florida, your wife said she loved it. as for the nurds down that way, hopefully I will be able to retain my parents home there as I love the area. the speed zones are new to me. fun out
