Pete, With The "Allison Cylinder" You Get A Little More "Feed-Back" Than With The Stock Sea-Star Cylinder. I Have The Hydraulic Steering From Allison In Both My XR02' And The XB02' Best $$$ I Ever Spent! Use The Correct Set-Up The 1st. Time And You Won't Be Sorry! Just My $.02...

I converted my SS to hydraulic two years ago. Called Allison and bought everything from them. The price was close to as good as anywhere, and I got the right stuff that way. The way I figured it, I've got a pile of money in the boat and motor, and I'm going fast. Why save a couple of bucks on something as important as steering.
The hydraulic steering is great.

The pro helm is 5770...the research I did indicates that Darius evaluated the 5345 helm and made only strcutural changes to the mounting of the cylinder to the support rod (via the use of keys) and the ARP tiller bolt which resulted in the 6345 cylinder. Its safer but there were is no difference from the operation standpoint.
