Don't feel bad the mighty Glenn Reynolds will not drive one anymore , He's been selling and racing them for ever, At a ODBA race in Fl it hooked on him right into the next lane at over 100mph that driver made a hard right to get away and got tore up and quit racing, Glenn raced two more years but never a Allison.

Allisons are the most exciting boats to watch at the drag races. Never know what they are gonna do when they fall off the pad or if they will make the finish line. Be careful out there. Saw one wind up in the trees once when it hooked.

Agree... I don't have a lot of seat time in the boat, including the previous 2.5 that it had, but it never felt as planted and set like all of the prior boats I've owned. I guess it's an Allison thing?

Hard to say? This is my first Allison, I've always loved the way they look and the build quality, but I tend to max out everything I've owned within my ability, so I'm not positive its the right boat for me? The non-ratcheting case would have to go for sure!

About 15 years ago a friend bought a 2002xb with a 260 with a polished CLE gearcase and asked me to teach him to drive it, I told him I never drove one but I'll give it a shot, all I heard was don't back off quick because...
I had it going wide open and kept trimming it till... BLOW OUT,I held it straight but I wish I had a picture of the boat owners face when I turned around OPPS.
I talked to one of my Allison racing buddys and he told me a polished CLE case will do that everytime with out a nose cone, make sure everthing is set up right and tight , they are beautiful boats.
You should come to Jasper and see a 400lb Allison with around 400hp on the back It can be a real show in only 800ft.
Was at a race this year and the fastest man to drive a outboard pleasure boat (STV)
got into Matthew Caldwell's Allison drag boat for a spin , I got to see the whole top of the boat and inside from 150 ft away

Let me start off by saying it good that your still here with us now there is a reason darris says no 3.0 or bigger on the back of a gs I was a test dummy on a Allison xb2002 with a 3.4 etec I got it up to the mid 90's every time I let off the gas I was waiting for something bad to happen it didn't but the project was over thank god when I told Darris about it at jasper he looked at me and told I don't want to here it and I am lucky to be alive I later found out from someone that a gs with a 3.0 barrel rolled over no one got hurt but that why Allison says no big weight motors

I think it can work ok with a ratcheting case, but I do agree with what you say. I also think the factory lip is a good thing for all-around efficiency, but imo it needs to be removed for a project like this. Anyway, I'm glad to still be around. Thanks
