250xb, 8" manual plate, 1.62 SM, tight-worked 30et copy, 1/4" over pad. Before someone says too high, etc... I ran 5/8" over with same prop when it had the 225. The boat did NOT BLOW OUT, it hooked while decelerating. Ran just under 100 very easily and I'm sure I would've raised it more had this not have happened and easily run over 100.... Not now!

for what it is worth, I have been running an Allison since the early 90's, when I used to play with top end runs I never found it beneficial to run with the prop shaft higher than the pad, I know some people do. My 2003 has been 105 with a 280, 2002 well above 100, like some others I have never hooked an Allison, in fact I have only been scared once, that being said I do not do any top end runs anymore, just to old I guess. Also I never felt the need to do anything to the pad, the man that designed it knows more than I do. I wish you luck, don't give up, remember any boat can bite you at any time.
