alot of new boats being made in sw fla :-)
with a lot of help from afr, the18 s skater has started its reconstruction. this will look nothing like the original, and hopefully will not ride the same either.Rkvector is probably going to have to change his screen name :-). and then there's another project that I cannot mention as of this moment, lol. will start posting pics of my rebuild soon. But with a pat eves block, yammi ignition,16in mid,and sporty lower should be interesting :-) keep you all posted

I want to see it run-those early skaters are what infected me with the boating disease.

And everyone knows I'm not a fan of splashwells. This will be made into a sunpad hatch. The old flipdown seats will be replaced by a bench with a built in cooler under it. The cocpit area is big without the front to back seats

Matt, had to get something more harbor worthy. The waves beat the crap out of the borum, but that will get reworked next year and save it for the lakes and rivers. Tell the family i said hi

Whats it getting for power? You will need an elec. jackplate for sure. I have lots of hours in a baby skater, glad to see one being re-born

Its going to have frostmans old 3liter pat eaves motor with a 16 mid and sportmaster, yammi ignition. Have a detwiler already but need to talk to pat at Skater about setback. This will be all composite. Joe,did you own one of these? I've talked to kyle who used to own one and said they can hook really quick. And this is a true tunnel

Old Pat Eves , is he still around? I remember when he worked at Baldwinsville marine in NY , 70's -1980, he was a good guy to know if you ran a OMC, he's the one that got me intrested in outboard drag racing , Pat and his buddy Dave raced in the 80's - 90's .
When you get it back together make sure your steering is rock solid. We have invented the world; WE see

The 18 Skater runs pretty good actually, given the times it was concieved. In the mid 80's I set one up with a Merc ModVP motor with about a 6" setback, propshaft more or less at the bottom of the sponsons, which ran excellent. Fun little boat.
