Slip or no slip...
I was riding this 3.0L V6 this afternoon and with a GPS, RPM and the prop pitch (28'' Chopper RE 5) at 3000 rpm with 1:62 gear ratio, I get 31mph and If I use the prop calculator, It's 32% of slip.
IMO it is Huge.
My question was:
Does the slip decrease as rpm and Speed increase.
I used the level and checked the prop height and it is 2'' above pad on an HST when jackplate is at it's lowest position and I always have a blade up in the air no matter what.Glastron GT 150 W OMC 140

Slip decreases as speed increase. My choppers are horrible for slip numbers at low RPM but as the speed increases they all settle in at 8-12%. Same prop that will be doing 40 MPH at 4000 RPM will be doing 75 MPH at 5500. It probably really has to do more with the fact you arent up on the pad at 30 MPH and the boat is just plowing through the water.

thanks for re-assuring me, honestly, I was thinking more of a serious issue.
I can't and WILL not pump this mota until the 10 to 12 hrs of Breakin will be over.
Lasttime I pushed it at around 4000 to 4200 rpm when it reached 7 hrs about, and busted a piston. grrrrrrrrrrrrr
Thanks a lot wired.Glastron GT 150 W OMC 140
