Either stringer system is fine. Quality workmanship is what matters. Fit everything precisely, leave no gaps, seal everything completely with resin, leave no air in the laminate. It's labor intensive but just basic fiberglass work, you don't need to redesign the boat. You can rebuild it as it was and have a very strong boat, or make it stronger if you prefer.

And West is still a very high quality resin (but too expensive for a cheapskate like me).

like t stand said, just clean it out real nice, just like good auto body work, time taken for a well prepped hull, will pay off for many years to come, you don't have to get all fancy with composites, just plain marine wood will work ,all depends on your budget,Unlike hydrostream, you just gotta, make sure all the air gaps are filled, and wet out the cloth, not just mist the resin on like they did,,,oh and I wouldn't cut out the transom from the outside, read all the vector builds on here, you will find that you only need remove the rear portion of the cap,to tie in the transom, stringers and stronger knees,
