could some one please tell me were the little black hose -about size of a straw goes or connects to coming out the top of the gearcase . bought a used motor and this hose sticks up and out about 2-3 inches hose was like that when bought and end was crushed shut.does it even connect to anything.thanks for the help.

It's a vent hose.... just comes up thru the leg opening.

It can be hooked up to the speedometer hose. Sometimes the hole in the front of it will be plugged with crap and it won't work until you clean it out. Compressed air and blowing backwards (from the top down) will get it a lot of times.

thank you.take it nothing to worry about then.i trimed the crushed end off so hose is open now.

Plug it. Its for tha speedo. Leave it open and ya might look like a mini jet ski..........
