Vision Rehab Project
Hey All,
Heres my Vision I'm working on, stripped the floor, and cleaned and drying the hull and stringers now...
Please add suggestions and ideas on what should be done, I'm also starting talks with Murph..
My original plan is to gitrot some sections of the stringers that seem a bit soft, then double up the stringers and glass them in, spray foam on the outside of the stringers, add more cross members ..then glass in a new floor, then lay another thinner ply floor on top before carpet.. But i may be on the wrong track as I'm new to this.
Let me know any advice please
Cheers

Welcome!
Nice boat... its gonna be a difficult project but with help from screamandfly it will be worth it in the end
Usually wet stringers also mean wet transom and wet core.
Please don't use gitrot its just a bandaid and will not have the structural properties of intact wood. youll have to pull the stringers, rip out the core and rip out the transom in order to build it right.... trust me, youll be happy when you know its done right.
This guide helped me and will help you:

Keep ripping out more. Lots more. Them stringers need to go and maybee the core also.

Might i suggest that you think about adding a little support to the hull sides along the chime , keel , transom , etc , etc , before completely tearing everything out of the hull either by blocking it up or building a cradle because the hull can and will loose its shape .
