Probably cheaper to go up there, box it up and ship it down........

Aggiestckl I have a great deal of stuff but thanks for the offer. One Bad rent opposite way? Ron way to much to ship. I found one for 1685 add gas and tolls and that ends any boat upgrades.

Yea, just messin with you. What I mean is everyone is heading to FL not FROM FL, so if you rented a truck from Miami to DE then it would be a lot cheaper. Doesn't help you moving though.
My real bit of advice is get a truck 2 sizes bigger than you think you need. They fill up fast.> Stainless steel Merc cowling plates - $110 shipped TYD - LINK <

I used to work for Penske but its been awhile, so I don't know if this stuff will still work.
If you get a rate from DE to Miami, check and see what other cities in FL that the rate maybe cheaper e.g. to Orlando or Melbourne. You could then turn it in at those locations instead if you didn't mind the drive back up there. Also when the rates are high like that, comparison shop like crazy. The rate is high due to oversupply in MIA and low outbound traffic of course, but Roger hates losing a T1W (Truck- One Way) deal to Y'All Hawl or Bug'it (Budget) given the same parameters. Call back and forth to them all, play them against each other etc. MAKE SURE you know WHO you are dealing with at each company. Get their first & last name and don't speak with anybody else if you can avoid it. Make it personal with each rep to get your business.
Also- try to deal with the local company operation- not the dealers at the storage companies etc. They usually didn't have the latitude the company stores did- but that all depends on how aggressive the dealer personnel are, too. I've seen a dealer really work over a rental manager to get a smokin' rate for his customer to keep it from going the other way. The higher the rental rate, the harder they fight due to commission percentages and revenue targets they need to hit each month. Also, the higher the rate, the more days you can get up front to make the trip- which sometimes helps. You can play that in your favor too- especially if you plan on dropping it in a different town than your destination. BUT don't tell them your really going to Miami but you want a rate to Orlando or something like that.
Just thinking back on this stuff reminds me why I'm my own boss now. Thanks for the education, Roger...1972 Raysoncraft 18LP v-drive Chev 454

At least with U-haul, you get a limited number of miles based on your destination city, e.g. Orlando. They will fleece you for each extra mile on the way from Orlando to Miami and back when you return the truck in Orlando. Maybe it is possible and cheaper to buy extra miles when you rent the truck, though...
