I am pretty sure boats have to be 22 ft or bigger to run at LOTO.

    That info is correct!

Very sad.... but really glad that Mike and Joel will be OK! They are just doing what they love, which most times means to push the envelope!

NBC reported this morning on the Today Show that they were ejected. I was surprised to her that since it was a canopy boat. I gather that that is just more of the misinformation that is floating out of this incident?

News media knows nothing so they just make stuff up as they see fit. Usually to make it sound more dramatic. Ejected sounds more dramatic than "the capsule protected them".

Thats bullls**** that no smaller boats can run. Yesterday(sunday) there was a long period of no boats running down the course. No reason these big boat guys should have their feelings hurt to have smaller boats run too. Didnt even see one smaller boat in the spectator area. You all know it would be cool to see Dave Driefort running a bad azzzzz 130+ MPH pass in an STV. Just my 2 cents

Although it's much more controlled now that they moved over to Captain Ron's, believe me, the last place on earth you wanna' be going 130 in a Stv is in the lake of the Ozarks!

Really? Why not? I watched the live feed all day both days and sunday it was like glass and an STV could have easily busted out a nice number. I get that its a large body of water but the conditions were great and the waters were very controlled as far as no wakes are concerned. Im not saying go wide open anywhere you want on any given sunday im talking about under these controlled conditions. Done this all my life and I can tell you I would have driven any boat v or tunnel under 22' over 100 mph on that course at the drop of a hat.

Like I said, it's better than when it was at Shooter's, but you still never know when a stray roller is gonna' sneak in, I saw some aired out big boats bounce a couple times.
For anybody who's never been there, here's what a busy day at the lake looks like.

I may be wrong, but I think the issue is getting your boat to the place they run. I have talked with people that have run this event and they say the lake chop getting out to where they run can be really bad. Not something you want to navigate in a smaller boat.

You should give the owner of Captain Rons who puts on the event and talk to them about it Maybe they will change the rules? You never know. I agree that anyone would like to see an STV at 130 pass.
Loto is great place to show what you have. Congrats to Tom Kennedy for running a 24 Skater at 121mph.

All day sunday the hosts of the broadcast included Bob Teagues commented on how calm the water was and that it was the reason most of the boats didnt make faster passes. We all know what type of water it takes to make these guys run fast. It was like glass all day not anywhere near what the larger boats need to run hard.

Double Rigged thanks for agreeing with me. I dont have a 130 moh STV but would have damn sure drove one yesterday there or even 100 in a smaller boat vee or tunnel. Just saying it would be cool to see given the calm waters I saw on the live stream

Ok now come on thats not the water conditions yesterday and like I said Im not talking about "ANY GIVEN SUNDAY" Im talking about yesterday. The people who made passes put in close to the race course not across the lake and it was nothing remorely close to that. I understand its probably not little boat water all summer just saying it would have been very easy to run 100 in an stv, mirage, hydrostream ect yesterday for fun and show.

It may be that this year was exceptionally calm...it seems to me that generally LOTO is no place for anything with STV written on it lol.
