It's a 225 promax, but someone said it looked like nicaseal to them, I think/hope it's steel.

Are you saying some 225 promax's were nic? I personally probably couldn't tell. Just started looking for/at parts. Looking for the website to mercury's parts/long blocks. You know, prices/part numbers/etc.

No Pro Max motors were Nic, easy to tell the diff between Nic and steel.

Stick a magnet on it. Merc never made a nicom promax but there are a few that were made under the shade tree.
