    Mercury cowl hold downs ?

    Hey guys
    First day on the site...and what a great indeed.
    Guys I'm having problems holding down my covers on my 300x I was told they sell Sella kit. Does anyone no where to get them. Thank you.

    Try adjusting the tension on the rear latch...better than drilling the cowl to install a bunch of hood latches. Our Spectre catches he!! and we just tighened up the rear latch and that worked. If you decide to get the latches make sure you get the one with stainless hardware (they are still gonna corrode..just not as fast)....

    Thank you for the reply goo time but.... I did tighten up on latches as much as possible. I rip buzzards bay in new England...where the average seas are 3 to 5' even with duck tape my hats are rdy to fly off. I was recently told about a rubber latch kit like they use on jeeps. Idk but I appreciate any ideas

    McMaster carr. I found two in the back was enough. Every timeI come in the rear latch is undone.

    Ven, Good idea using them in the rear only. The rear latch adjustment does run out of adjustment travel but more can be achieved with a little grinder action on the slots of the roller bracket.

    Not on a saltwater motor. Could feel the bolts wanting to snap

    My last cowl would pop open all the time . Got sick of repairing it so I put one hold down on the latch .
