    Mercury 2.4 200 problems (help)

I've been trying to get this thing right and can't figure it out. I thought I would now ask for help from someone who noes more than me. One the trailer it runs fine, the problem is when it's under a load it Only runs half throttle. If I try to cruise it bogs down and if I try to go wide open it bogs. It's got new plug wires, trigger, stator, electronic boxes from cdi and new coil packs. I've been trying for months to figure this thing out and I'm stumped. If someone could steer me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Cory s&f

    Is it EFI or carbed?
What RPM range is the problem happening at?
Have you performed a fuel pressure test yet?
Are you running ethanol or rec?
If it has a anti siphon valve in the fuel tank have you checked that?
Have you replaced your primer bulb?
Have you checked all the fuel lines for kinks or tight bends?
Have you pulled and inspected the inner core of fuel lines for delamination?
Have you pulled, cleaned &/or replaced ALL the fuel filters and screens on and before your OB?
    What's your timing set at?
When you replaced the trigger did you make sure the cable had plenty of free play?

It's a carb motor with factory fuel pump and put a guage on it and it's stays at 4 lbs all the time. Cleaned car a new primer bulb and running 100 oct non ethanol. I don't know how to set the timing that's the only thing I haven't done. Thank you. Plez respond

First you need a dial indicator and a timing light to start.
    Do you have these items?

I'm going to scan the timing chapter for ya and post.
    Easier than trying to explain.

A little more to it with a carbed motor than I posted.

You should also purchase a manual for your particular OB.

They have all the info you require, (basics) & illustrations of procedures as well.

    Hope this helps.

Have you done a compression check and have you verified that you have ignition on all 6 cylinders? Check all your bleed lines. It sounds like fuel starvation or vacuum leak.

Should be WH-20s...part breakdown says Idle air .046 and Mains .072. I used largers jets in both, especailly with todays fuels usually .052 idle air and .080 &.082 mains. I would guess (and it is just a guess) that pickup timimg would be ~ 8 degrees ATDC and WOT timing would be ~24 -25 degrees BTDC max. Some here will have the exact numbers.....

Compression is 145-150 across the board
