    That's next years plan. I'm already almost out of time now. I have a goal for 2 weeks from today or I give up until next year. I need some input on motor alignment. I assume there's a tool or procedure? Bare with me. I'm very new to marine.

    Yes there is a tool to check splines and align it with the gimbal/output shaft

    Ok cool. Good info. I was delaying building my back mount until I saw how this was done. Now I realize I need to finish the rear mount using all the measurements I can take from the 502 to get my centerline right. This thing is going to run this week. Shop is busy, but, all kinds of time to sleep when your dead....

    I built it with a VE because everyone told me i could not make a VE run a 12. I am happy with it. It has 11's in it with the little VE.. The other thing people give me **** about is the 3sp 727 with a ford 9in 275 gear. All i hear is if that think had lock up in it. Maybe one year i will p-Pump it. Should run 10.50's pretty easy then.. I am just not sure how it will handle on the big end at those speeds...Its smooth as glass now but only traps 106mph.

    HA HA... Fluid drive has been working for drag cars for years.. LOL.. Oh and the trans and converter are stock..

    Killer machine. My shop has been so busy and haven't worked on it much. I do whine about this fact everyday too. A buddy was by yesterday and did some 'glass repair in the motor mount area. It really wasn't bad, bothered him more than I (probably because he knows how far we'll take this once we decide to lean on it) but at least it's tough now. The next time the motor sets in which is Monday. It's there to stay. I still don't know if I should close loop the Intercooler or weld larger fittings into it and run full flow water through it first. Thoughts?

    Any idea rpm at shift/trap?
