You may have to let the motor down since you don't have a low water pick up or the motor might not have enough water pressure.
Any kind of over hub prop will cavitate with all of the exhaust going thru the foot.
You might need a torque tab at higher speeds " Blowout" might become a problem.
A Yamaha style or "ET" or the SRX would be better choices.

Yes, a lot more, but all is not lost. A good prop guy can give you all the bite you can handle in that prop.
Problem now is, you need to test several props to see what you like. Different blade designs have different characteristics, and affect the boat and the drivers feel.
How far are you from Barrie? We have some pretty sharp guys up there if you can get together with them.Living in the Freedom provided by Bud Conner and his fellow warriors.

You need to relieve the exhaust before the prop or it will never come out of the hole with an over hub prop. If you dont want to relieve the exhaust (loud) run a through hub prop.
Your prop shaft is not even with the pad you would have serious water pressure problems and the engine will go into safe mode limiting to 2500 rpmLast edited by baja200merk; 07-31-2014 at 09:10 PM.

I would have a little cup added to that prop. I have 2 28 choppers, 1 stock, and 1 with added cup and they are night and day. I ran both on my 2 Vectors, the difference in holeshot is incredible! I have run them both on my Mirage with same results. An SRX is also a great choice!

last thing they need is cup/bow lift. my brothers ran 90s with a 28, drove best with a 30 cleaver but we never had time to set it up for that prop before he got his mirage.
Level boat and motor then use a strait edge to see where your prop shaft is in relation to the bottom.
You need a torque tab
You will need a low water pickup soon.

Many good comments.
If you have cup added to that prop, that will help pop it on plane and then get good on the trim buttons.
A Raker will get you there by just bolting it on but will be 2 or 3 slower, all things equal.
I had a V-6 looper on a Vector and it ran great but I had open exhaust which helps w/running over hub props. I ran/tried EVERYTHING on that boat I could beg/borrow/steal and the best all around prop was 26" Yamaha drag.
That motor would turn 8K+ though so you'd probably be at a 28". The 26 pulled hard enough that it was a killer drag prop from a roll and was only 3 down on my fastest wheel that like yours, took for ever to get there.
Keep at it and you'll get there. Also, w/all that weight on the back of the boat I had to put my battery under the dash to balance the boat and your motor is 100 lbs heavier than mine.
Evidence that it can be done.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
