    1996 200 efi

OK, So I came across a 1996 200 EFI. It has a bad cylinder but it is priced right so I brought it home. Is this motor a good platform for modifications? It will be a long term rebuild as the boat runs well now with the XR2 that is currently on it. Any reply's (good or bad) are welcomed.

what are you gonna do with it ? ski, ride, lake race or ? i had James Perry do some porting for me and i must say i have never ever seen any better or more uniform port job!! he matched all the ports in it, did a great exhaust cavity job, did the oiler hole / dummy sealing ring fill in which looks amazing( its a 225 pmax ) ive had 7 or so of these and this is by far the best runner better then the Ruck cut one i had 6/7 years ago he knows his machine work and a nice guy to deal with contact him if your going this route , i personally could tell no diff in the spacer on my efi or removal of the vst but to each his own, i leave my heads at 145 or less cuz of the mystery fuel we get these days but again to each his own, lightwheel is ok if your not a fishing person which i am i have a few lite wheels, but im waiting on B. Powers to release his 40 amper later this year my last lite wheel did not work out with the 40 amp system so thats my next item for my Bullet bass rig ,cut heads allways biggest bang for the buck then it how deep are your pockets next to a great setup and rigging job chose wisely on the other stuff do your home work and ask lotsa questions good luck

I am a weekend performance boater, No fishing, ride the rivers and enjoy just being out on the water with famly and friends, maybe pull my daughter on an inner tube occasionally. I do like to go fast too. I am a long time drag racer, (cars) and got into boats several years back but they were all inboard automotive powered (Jet boat, Baha outlaw,) and then I got the checkmate with an outboard. Sold that boat and now have the tunnel hull and I love it so far. So with all of that said I still have a question...What is the VST tank???? Sorry for my ignorance but outboards are greek to me right now LOL.
