Opinions on this 26ft Hull?
Hey guys.. a 26ft hull has come up for sale locally, and im really interested in it. Its being powered by a single yamaha... but since they are selling it to me with no power, Im thinking that a pair of merc 200hp 2 strokes would go nicely with it.
Im just curious about the hull.. the hull was made in 2002 by a local builder that has now gone out of business, but these are the same guys that made the copies of the 21ft Challenger boats here in Venezuela.
Anyone have a clue what this hull is a "copy" of? I took a look at it a couple of days ago and it seems very solid and well built, no stress cracks, goes 40mph on rough water and feels very solid, I just dont like the ride with a single motor, plus twins just adds peace of mind in my opinion, not to mention would look way cooler...
anyways, Im all ears/eyes to what anyone here has to say about the looks of this hull, it kinda reminds me of the old scarabs used in baywatch, although im not sure if Scarabs were ever made in 26ft...
ignore the horrible roof thats on it. lol

Also looks similar to the 26' Paramount. Here's a couple pictures. I'll see if I can find more.

The boat has a style break line down the side with a pad bottom..it kind of looks like a Velocity/Thoroughbred hull....

Have you measured the yellow boats exact length from tip of the bow to the transom's rail? Is it exactly 26'? Also, measure how wide and long that small pad is and post that up with a better picture.

I think it looks like a Velocity with the feature on the side. The bottom also looks like a Velocity.....

Definitely not Velocity as the pad is too narrow and no notched transom.

Epale paisano!
What's the maker's name? What state is it from?
It's probably a wellcraft. I'm almost 100% sure we never imported paramounts for copying but wellcrafts were all over the place.

100% Wellcraft 26 Scarab Sportster, look at the pad and crinkle in the hull side, dead hive away. Should be a upper 60s ride with a pair of 200s and the right setup.
