1991 200hp, which electric fuel pump to use

I'm looking to run an electric fuel pump instead of the diaphram pump. Any recommendations on brand/type? Would you just bypass the diaphram pump or remove the internals?
    thanks

Older carbureted Mercury Hi Performance engines came with the low pressure Holley pump. Can't remember if it's the blue or the red one that's low pressure.
Can bypass or remove the diaphragm pump or just leave it in the system hooked up. The fuel will just flow through it.

Just remembered one thing. If it's a carbureted engine and you're keeping the oil injection on you have to be real careful on fuel pressure. If it's too high it won't allow the oil injection check valve to open and starve the engine for oil. The Mercury Hi Performance engines I was referring to were premix and no oil injection.

The Carter P4070 sealed pump is a better pump for under 300 HP use. The pump will outlast your boat/car/tractor. Holley vane pumps have lefty me stranded/broke down/marooned/sitting by the side of the road/kicked off a ferry more times than I like to think about. Never happened with the Carter. The Carter costs a fraction of what Holley wants for even their lower pressure red pump and they are now where near as loud as the Holley pumps .
