    ProMax vs 260 injectors...

Wondering what is the difference performance-wise between the pink tipped Keihin injectors from a ProMax and the Bosch injectors from a 260/280/drag? I'm thinking about doing a project engine, possibly using a more-than-moderately ported ProMax block with a laser injected front with SVS intake. All driven with drag electrics. I guess my main concern is if the Keihin injectors are capable of providing the fuel for it? I would imagine that they are plenty, but want to run it by you guys before doing it. I'm sure it's been done before.

Yes the Keihn injectors will handle mods up to 280 HP increase. The best combination is get a NON progressive intake to replace the Progressive intake you most likely currently have. The NON progressive works much better with the SVS. Also trash the VST and go with a Bosh 984 pump and adjustable fuel regulator.

VST won't be an issue. I haven't run a VST on even a stock ProMax in several years. Prefer to go straight to the 260 style fuel system.

Bud, are you talking about the Keihins will handle "up to" 280hp, or "an additional 280hp"? I'm sure you mean the former, but I want to be sure. To be even clearer...does anyone know the max hp that the Keihins will handle in a 2.5 Merc?

With drag electronics your fuel pressure will be about 50 psi. Start there. I love my PM set up.

They will handle up to 280 HP easily. I had a ProMax that I ported to 260 specs with SVS and it was making 280 ish. I had no issues once I got my hands on a NON progressive intake. The progressive intake is a PIG on the bottom end and it robs away from the SVS.

Is the progressive intake not in the linkage itself? You're referring to the way the bottom butterfly's open before the top ones correct?

Yes its all in the linkage that makes a NON progressive different than a Progressive. The throttle bodies are basically the same.
