    Help with boat hopping

    I have a 1994 quartershot/lightning 18 tunnel with a 2.4 200
it has 12 inch setback and prop shaft about 1/2 inch above pad and a 28 chopper. Hops around 65 mpg and can't get to push through if. Finally got it to go through it today and ran into low 80s but ran out of room. The only way it would go through the hop was on a long right hand turn. Know people say turning it helps pack the air in but why won't it do the same on a left hand turn? Or going straight. Kinda agrivating to have to go through a curve to get it to lay down. I am gonna try to go up on the height some. Any other idea on what the problem could be. Would appreciate any help.

    sounds like too much setback.

most guys i know only run up to 9.5" setback on that boat. depending on horse power. some only run around 6" setback.

also depends on the prop. some props don't run good in the mid range

Some people have told me 12 is fine and some not sure. I have 24 28 30 choppers now. Working on getting 28 worked to et cut. I know there is just a certain spot they hop before air gets under them. I was just wandering why I can get it to fly correct with a right turn and not a left. Is that just how it works or could that be some of the prop or setback?

2 or solo. Solo I think you have cross hop. The light side is venting out befor the right is fully lifted on its step or hydrodynamic feature. Whole bunch of other stuff trimming out to soon porpoising not air hop, venting the prop notice by rpm jumps, and the deeded working as intended.

Happens with 2 or solo. But it is a t3 do it's center steer. I don't think it's a premature trim problem as it can start hopping then I can come out of the trim and it will quit but as soon as I try to start putting a little more trim it will began hopping again. All this around 60 mph.
