BARNEY, fuel delivery system failed again...steppin on the gas is like flushing the toilet, need to get away from a dead head pump, can't keep up...the boat felt real light in the 2-3 chop...just a bad day for testing...getting there...went to FOLEY's for the BBQ & PARTY ...back at it this weekend...

Worked on boat today, between watching the BLUE ANGLES air show, re-plumbed the whole fuel system, now has clear fuel filter before pump-to fuel dual tank switch(FRONT & REAR TANK)- fuel pump 110gph 3/8 lines-fuel regulator (VANE TYPE) with return to tank (1/4")- fuel water seperator- to inline particle filter- to motor...set at 4 lbs no bleed over, pump sounds better and you can see the circulation of fuel...no blockage...turned key and it fired right up, have pressure guage on top carb so can see fuel pressure on top carbs...ready to water test again...

working on a deal with FACEAZ for a V/8 custom fuel rail, can plum each carb with it's own line rather than sharing (factory set-up ) that should help...mmooo money...don't worry..be happy...

That boat ran 68 mph with a stock 225 looper on it and would run in less than a foot of water...it is very light for its size...I traded the molds to a guy in miami...that hull (he built) was part of the deal...original boat came from california and had a single big block i/o..ran just over 100...frostman had one with twin 235 crossflows-ran 87-88...let me know if you want to sell just boat and trailer-i want to put a fishing deck on it..........greg
i love mercs---they taste like chicken

GREG, thanks for the history lesson...I bought the boat in NORTH PORT from a guy just off 75 exit, it had a 25" JOHNSON 200 on it, he said it sat in his yard for 10 yrs, never got to re-hab it, pulled it back to MELBOURNE, without much effort got the motor to fire right up, sold motor and bought a pair of 4 ltr 300hp limited edition V/8's offshores that were stored in DAYTONA in a shop, sold the lefty with all the acessary's (wing plates-tie bar-controls-gill brackets) etc kept the 15x34 L&R CLEAVERS...funny the boat had rod holders and a live well in back seat...the guy told me two were made one with a fissing deck (maybe cc ) and this one...yes it's very light for it's size, the guy also said it ran 74 mph with a 240 hp VINDICATER OMC V/6, the transom was built up for twins, but I figured one thirsty V/8 was all I could afford + the V/6 motor looked too small on the back...now the V/8 looks proportional and the 20" motor on hyd jackplate fit's perfect...I'm hopeing for mid 80's once complete, that would be great for this nostalgic beast...been fighting with the motor most of all...had to replace all the electrics with CDI (costly but new ) now the fuel system to feed the beast, runs great up to about 3500 rpm, then when you put your foot in it it just falls down, not enough fuel, don't want to hurt the motor as it has 130lbs comp, and hate to run it lean...the VRO pumps were bad so removed them and went with a elec fuel pump & reg system, just trying to get it right...the boat feels good, and gets right up on plane with the 4-blade cleaver, just SUCKS alot of fuel...gettin there...am damed determined to get this beast running, hate to break it up at this point, I'm so close...I remember FROSTMAN'S SMOOOTH OPERATOR cat...was that the same boat??? thanks for the reply...DON
