    .

Yes, I will post pics of the transom on the next boat.

The 21' Skater has always been a great boat. I have had 2 with twins and several with singles. I think a modern up date to it will make it that much better. I like the pads, the tunnel depth, but have never liked the narrow tunnel. After driving some wider tunnels and seeing what guys like Doug Wright have done. It kind of seems like a no brainer to me. I have never liked the aluminum or plexiglass windshields, so that has to be fixed. I like the idea of people having the option of picking what side to set up as the driver's side. I plan to do the same thing with the Talon's. I think some cosmetic work to update the look of the deck would be nice to the Skater.

Neale Glass has his 24' Skater here that he wants to widen the tunnel, add some length to it for the bigger motors that keep coming out and a few other things. We plan to make a mold of it if we like the outcome. Neale also bought the 24 Aronow molds and has them at our shop for several months now. They are now about 80% restored. They were a disaster. The first one should start being built in about 1-2 months.

So there are a lot of projects going on and I will try and keep everyone posted of the progress.

I saw the skater moulds and todd's Skater when I was up at Todd's shop picking up the MTR. I agree with the comment that the Talon's look better than the MTR. One day I will have a Talon but still putting money in the MTR, got an IMCO SC -3 complete drive hope to have it friday. I saw them laying up a boat and watched for hours. Todd has a LOT going on at his shop but his construction techniques and the boats themselves look awesome. He had one without rubrail almost ready for the customer sitting on a dolly. I like the no rub rail look but where I dock, I think it is not very practical. Maybe the 1/3 rub rail would work or 1/2, but I am pretty much all or none type of guy.

Overall I was very impressed with Todd's workmanship, facility and staff. I will have one of them sooner or later.

I wanted to add this. I am trying to stay out of rigging the boats as much as possible, because we are a small shop and I am the only one here who has any rigging experience. We will rig them if need be, but what we are trying to do is set up dealers to do the rigging for us and who will be able to spend more one on one time with the customer's and their customizing of their new boat. I have been more of a general rigger, not radios, speakers, Garmins, etc., so with this being said, I have talked to Randy Corson (once) and Craig Alstott (several times) about carrying our boats and buying the bare hulls and rigging them to the customer's likings. Nothing is set in stone with either person, but feel free to call them and see if they are interested. Thanks, Todd

Talked to Randy Corson today. He is good to do for you guys that want to go through him. I am going to try and send Randy a boat down here shortly so he can do his magic with it.

I know I have been slacking on posting pics. Here are some new ones. Another deck out of the mold a couple of weeks ago. It has been trimmed up now, so I will post newer ones shortly. This was right out of the mold pics. Still has the green PVA on it.

This is the new revised cockpit liner out of the mold. This cockpit liner has been lengthened for many reasons, foot throttles and taller people. Plus I am going to install a crawl through panel so it needed to be flat and I like how it will tie to the front bulkhead better. Let me know what you think. I still can do the original style liners out of the old mold.

I can not thank my crew here enough. They are hard workers and this all could not be done without them. We are super excited about the next Talon 22 SS. It is going to be all gelcoated Viper Red deck and hull for a customer in California. Should be starting on it right after Thanksgiving.

That boat is coming to where I live. The buyer wants me to teach him how to drive it once it get's here. Are you rigging it with an electric jackplate, or fixed? Will there be mechanical trim/jackplate indicators? What steering are you rigging it with? Foot throttle/foot trim? The waterways where he will be boating have lots of turns and lots of large-wake boat traffic - it's very important to have a foot throttle and either foot or blinker style trim. Trying to hand throttle/trim while constantly turning is nearly impossible at speed. It's been 15 years since I owned my 22 Talon, but I remember it being a good boat for the smoother channels of the Delta waterways.
