1977 Ventura II Race Boat For Sale
Unrestored 1977 HydroStream Ventura II for sale. Bought with intent to restore; reality is just not enough time.
This is an original race hull (stringers and torque box interior, no floor or any foam floatation) and arguably HydroStream's best model ever in terms of all-round performance. It will run well with as little as 50 or as much as 300 hp (although anything over 150 is for the experienced driver only). These hulls were originally designed and built to run with the inline-6 Mercury outboards, at speeds between 60 and 80 mph. At these speeds these boats run extremely well; these days, many have installed much larger and heavier engines with very good results as well.
This is an unrestored project boat--so it will need core, stringers, transom and gelcoat. Rubrail is in very good condition, which is rare for this type of boat. Gelcoat has been cleared but it's peeling off. Sold on a very nice Snowco old-school trailer with spare and tongue jack. I bought this from a S & F member in Connecticut in 2012, and have not touched it since, save for putting it on the Snowco trailer. I paid $600 for it on a much worse trailer; I am asking same price but including the nicer trailer. The trailer in the photos below is not the trailer it will be sold with. Could help with delivery if reasonable distance away. John Tiger (518)-469-3700, jtigerjr@hotmail.com.

This boat is now up for sale again after the buyer backed out. The boat is currently stored in a storage area in upstate NY, location about 50 minutes due north of Albany. It is exactly the same as when offered for sale before (see original post). I forgot to mention that it comes with two original HydroStream race bucket seats. They, like the boat, need to be restored. But as anyone who's ever driven a Ventura before, once again this is the best all-round performing hull Pipkorn ever designed and produced. $600 to a good home, you come get it. Must go before October 31, 2014, then it must be moved again as it can't stay where it is.

Boy John, sure wish it was for sale when I was in Clayton the first of Aug. I had an empty trailer hitch coming home.
This would be a great project, would love to have something like this for Tavares. Not sure when I will be back up North, when does it have to be moved before I commit.
