79 Hawaiian
I am looking at a 79 Hawaiian jet boat, it is 19' has a SBC all stock, Is there any reason I should be running away from this boat, it is a very good looking boat but I m unfamiliar with this make
All opinions welcome

I remember the Hawaiian as a very respectable boat. The only reason I would run away from it is if the wood is soft and you don't want to get into hull repairs, stringers etc. You haven't given very much info so this is only a very general opinion.

Thanks, The boat floors and hull are solid with no soft spots that I can find, It has been sitting for some time (10 years), It has a panther jet drive and SBC (350ci) engine the engibe does not run at this time (owner said it ran when parked, heard that before, why park it if nothing was wrong). the top of the decking has a lot of cracking or spiderweb as it looks to me, I associated that with it's age. I offered $2000 for boat and trailer.

I would think it is worth that. Might want to check the gas tanks,,, sometimes they are built in and if aluminum a bit of a job to clean,, but can be done.
I have not seen many small block jets. Actually none now that I think of it. Lots of Olds, big ford and chevy. Does it look factory ??

Yes it looks stock but this is South Louisiana, boat parts are everywhere, it could have easily been transplanted. If it was it was done right because everything is correct and inline including the exhaust going through the transom. It looks like the deal is not going to happen though, I got a lead on a 20' tunnel with a 150 xr2 Merc black max on it so I'm thinking of moving on.
