What is the purpose of the plastic washer that DAH sell with the thrust washer. I dropped mine in the lake...
It's been 2 years since I've run my SRX and when I went to put it on, I thought (a) what is this for and then (b) oops

The other things you'll need are a thin aft washer, and a half-thickness nylock nut. There won't be enough propshaft sticking out to engage the nylon with a regular prop nut. DAH has these hard-to-find prop nuts.

OK, so the thin plastic washer I dropped in the lake goes on the aft end of the prop shaft?

I run the thrust washer pictured in my previous post and a std flat washer with a cut down merc nylock nut. You can take a std nut and turn it down to about 5/8 of the original depth and be ok given it is torqued properly and the nut is fresh. I ran a 27 SRX at 3 lakes this way an entire weekend and checked the nut torque before we headed home and it hadn't changed. I was a little wigged out by not using a traditional lock tab setup but it worked fine for me.
David, I'm not familiar with the washer you are referring to but if it resembles a flat washer in any way, the yes, it most likely lives directly behind the prop nut.1976 Hydrostream Viper - 2.5 EFI
