Last week I received the original OMC Manual for the 1995 looper V models, nowhere anything is stated about this vent fitting. I'm lost now haha.

I think the best solution is to just connect it to a hose and lead that hose to the upper side of the airbox. That way air can still get in to allow 'venting', and the fitting will not leak anymore when I tilt the engine.

I just can't believe no single person knows about this fitting haha

Got outboard back from mechanic, still need to test it myself but according to the mechanic it runs fine again. It turns out the idle mixture on the carburators was set wrong. Timing was ok.

The mechanic and I agreed to route a hose from the vent fitting to the top of the airbox, there is a hole there, but no fitting.

This way, the 'vent fitting' can still 'vent' in order to allow gas and oil to go up to the upper bearing, as was suggested here, and the fitting won't leak any fuel anymore when I tilt the engine.

doesnt fluid find its common level, so it will come out the vent before it goes to the top bearing as its higher?
