Sounds like you got it figured out. Probably best you load the motors in your new truck and they just move the truck. Just remember you V8 is worth more to you than your new truck.

v/8
Gary, there is a so called MONTY 300 hp V/8 powerhead in ALTOONA ...he was asking $1000 complete less starter, clamed it was freshened up by MONTY a while ago, never run, belonged to JONES RACING, I think T-REX looked at it, might check that one out, almost bought it myself for a spare..will keep looking...

Very nice looking Checkmate!
hope to see it out at Buckeye Lake sometime. I'm out occasionally in a my 85' Hobie Power Skiff.
There are some nice boats out there. That boat would be perfect, especially with a V8!Last edited by Carusoracer; 10-29-2014 at 09:56 PM.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
Caruso, has been to Buckeye Lake several times.
Has been a great boat so far. Can't remember the last, true family boat I've owned.
Totally different experience w/a boat full of people w/smiles on their faces. Started out slow @ 59 MPH but w/props and 2 more inches of set back I've gotten it to 66 GPS. The bottom doesn't have a pad but at 60/61 you can feel it clean up and start running like it does.
Thought I bought the wrong boat until that happened the first time.
I ran the last time w/the orig. motor and now have the 3.3 project motor on for mock up purposes.
I bolted on a 10" hydraulic plate w/a 6" manual bolted to that w/2" spacers bolted to that and a 1/4" plate between them to help tie it all together.
So according to my math I have 18 1/4" set back. The boat loved the 2" spacers I added so we'll see how much it really wants.
W/that amount, the motors back far enough now to where I can build/add a platform/bracket thus eliminating the splash well and building/adding a sun lounge.
We'll see what the winter brings as I didn't buy this thing to do that much work
Also, FYI, the orig motor is now for sale. Cleanest (in and out) I've ever seen! I just installed a new stator and rectifier.
Starts, idles, shifts as new. Pulled a 24" Raker to 5700 on that boat.
If you buffed it, it would pass as new. Even the graphics are perfect!
$3500.
Here's some pix's of the process. W/all the set back, and the motor "up" it scares me a bit
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

Yep, That`s a huge splash well. It should provide for a nice sun lounge. Any word on a V-8?
Oh, Nice shop. I can see a fancy painted floor in the future.

That is a really sharp looking boat, love the extra room of the open bow area.

Thanks for the compliments on the shop guys. Building what I've always dreamt of.
Still putting it together. Have everything but the time.
Built a heavy duty 2' X 16' work bench w/a steel top. No more oil soaked wood that block studs catch on while trying to move a p.head around.
Couple of pix's.
I like the before an after for the lights. Note that the "before" was w/the door open (for additional light) and after is w/door closed.
May try and do something w/skylights also.
Still need to plumb the compressor. Have it temporarily hooked to a 50' hose reel but have a 25' for the far end of the shop and at least 150' of additional hose.
It's getting there....
"Before"
"After"
A little bonus that previous owner left behind
Finally a real work bench.
