Gary, it is probably mentioned earlier in this thread, but where did you find that, that is exactly what Mom wants for the family now.... I can't get over how clean it looks there in the building, the florescent lighting made a huge difference, never can have too much lighting IMO. Lots of room in there to keep filling up the toy box too....

e-bay
I have a saved search for them. I called the owner the morning it came out. Was in Grand Rapids Michigan, bought it sight un-seen and kept my fingers crossed.
I'm thinking now, I should re-hang the old motor to see how it runs w/that much set back. That would help decide on building a bracket.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Mine too.
Spent every weekend of the first 45 yrs of my life on a boat up there.
Last 8 yrs in Fla and trying to do the Erie thing remotely.
Had no idea how spoiled I was to be able to do it by boat, back in the day.
We are now trying to convince ourselves that a weekly, 3 hr commute (same as our old house to Keys) to the big lake is doable and worth buying a cruiser for
Have boated all over the US and when everything is right, that lake has been the best.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

It's pretty much done.
Rigging is complete and I have an hr of break in on the motor.
Reinforced the motor board today. Really like the way the braces worked out.
Basically same as a tie rod end. Install it then you can adjust its length. As in you can put it under load.
I like this enough that it may even work for the 8 if I don't do the sun lounge project.
Now has hydraulic steering, 18" of setback, trim and plate are on turn signal switches, pyrometer, foot throttle etc.Last edited by Instigator; 02-13-2016 at 09:46 PM.

I love it when this happens. Something very specific you want, you find, you buy it, you make it yours. I had the same experience when I bought my Cee Bee Avenger. I've wanted one since the late '80's. In 2007 I pulled the trigger to get one, made repairs, and I love the thing. It's my sig pic.
Congrats!

Thx guys. Wanted to test this weekend but the damn lakes still hard!
The glass is 1/2" - 1" thick where I attached to. Deck above it is also cored.
1/2" starboard backers behind mount plates as well.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
